The Rabbi on the left has a messenger/angel behind him, supporting him and giving him the inspiration he needs to explain to the congregation the lesson for today: Kindness. As the all the children sitting up front look on, the Rabbi’s knowledge flows from the top of his head, out from under his yamaka and into the ears of the congregation. The air above is swirling and gives a special ambiance to the room. A look of understanding falls upon the faces of the faithful.
I love this painting with its pale, gentle greens and especially the white space between them which adds a bit of a heavenly look to the left side.
